Fall and Winter Sports:
Unfortunately, the OIA has cancelled it's Fall and Winter Sports for the 2020 - 2021 school year. The official press release will be posted shortly.
Just a reminder that in order to participate in Athletics, a Physical, Assumption of Risk and Concussion Management form needs to be completed. All forms can be found in the Forms and Document section. Physicals are good for one calendar year. If your physical is still current, please have your physician fill out the DOE Physical form. We are not allowed to accept physicals that are not on the DOE form.
These forms must be completed before any student can tryout or do any form of conditioning with our athletic teams.
Conditioning on campus:
At this time, extra-curricular activities are still on hold. All schools are waiting for the approval from the DOE before any on campus conditioning can start. Information will be posted if and when we are allowed to begin on campus conditioning.
Another revision has been made. With the exception of Girls Volleyball and Football, Fall sports have tentatively been pushed back to January and will tried to be played along with the Winter sports. Girls Volleyball and Football have been moved to the Spring season. Spring season will tentatively try to start in late February or early March.
Ath this time, the DOE is still not allowing students to enter campus for any type of athletic conditioning. The DOE originally set an August 19 date to allow for students to condition on campus but a few days ago it was pushed back to August 31. Due to yesterday's directive (Aug. 7) to have distance learning until Sept. 11, the August 31 date will almost certainly be moved. The date will be posted as soon as we are informed.
A current physical will be needed to participate in any summer activity once our campus is opened to our students. Physicals are valid for one year from the time a physical is taken.
As of 6/11/2020, our school campus is still not open to our coaches or athletes. More information will be posted as we get more guidance about when our campus will be open for summer workouts.
Friday night lights:
To honor our Class of 2020, Roosevelt High School will be joining several other public schools in honoring our Class of 2020 by turning on our field lights at 8:20pm (20:20 military time) for 20 minutes and 20 seconds. We will do this each Friday from 4/24 - 5/29.
Spring Sports teams:
Unfortunately, due to the Covid19 virus, our Spring season has come to an end. HHSAA announced that the Spring season has been cancelled. Press release is below.
The RHS Athletic Department would like to thank all of our Spring student athletes for their hard work and dedication throughout the 2019-2020 year. We know a lot of you have been training since last summer and it gives us great sadness that your season had to be cut short. For our Seniors, good luck in your future endeavors. Although we know this is not the way you wanted to end your Senior year, stay focused, keep working hard and good things will happen. For our returning student athletes, once we get through this, you will be the leaders of our Spring sports next year. Continue to work hard and prepare for next season. Mahalo Spring student athletes!!!
Due to the Covid 19 virus and the restrictions that are currently in place, the RHS Athletic Department unfortunately will have to cancel our 2019-2020 athletic banquet. We would like to take this time to acknowledge all of our hard working student athletes who made Roosevelt High School proud.
Until further notice, all athletic practices will be put on hold. Coaches will be notified when they will be able to resume workouts.
