The Keiki Caucus of the Hawaii State Legislature, in partnership with the Department of Education (HIDOE), is soliciting applicants for the 2022 High School Legislative Intern Program. The 17 week program, taught by Dr. Tammy Jones, begins on January 12, 2022 and ends on April 27, 2022. Interns may be eligible to receive .5 general elective credit in Community Service (ACCN code: XLH 2001).
This program blends online and face-to-face civic curriculum with hands-on practical experiences in the legislative process. They will concurrently engage in a rigorous and relevant civics curriculum that builds on their foundational knowledge of our representative democracy.
Students enrolled in all Hawaii public high schools may apply. Only complete applications will be considered, and participant selection will be based on the criteria specified in the application form. Up to 25 students will be accepted into the program.
See Ms. Dudoit in A3 Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 17, 2021. Accepted applicants will be notified no later than Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
