The Algebra 2 Honors course is highly accelerated. It encompasses concepts from Algebra 2, Algebra 3, and Trigonometry; essentially two years of high school math compressed into one year! This college preparatory course is intended for highly motivated students who wish to experience the rigor of the Algebra 2 standards and strive to further their studies of Mathematics.
Students will expand their Algebraic understanding of linear and quadratic functions, and their Trigonometric knowledge of basic Trigonometric ratios to inverses, functions and properties. Students will extend their Algebraic knowledge to complex numbers, power functions, radical functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, and rational functions.
Upon successful completion, students will earn one math credit. Most students earning a final year grade of B or better are recommended to continue to Pre-Calculus. The alternative pathway, Algebra 2/2H followed by Algebra 3/Trigonometry, offer one math credit per course over two years (2 math credits).
