Aloha Rough Riders,
In these extremely challenging times, I would like to share our heartfelt support and solidarity with you and your families. At RHS, the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community is our number one priority. We have a 90-year legacy of “pride and excellence” and we are committed to doing all we can to keep everyone safe.
As countries around the world are implementing measures to contain this public health crisis, we have been taking strict precautions to protect our students, faculty and staff. We are following guidance from the DOE and adhering to the county’s Emergency Order requiring all individuals anywhere in the City and County of Honolulu “to shelter in place and work from home except for certain essential activities and work...” Our school will remain closed until we receive further guidance. Therefore, we may not respond in a timely manner to any messages left on our school voicemail system.
We are extremely grateful for our essential workers who have reported to work when called upon to help maintain important operations of our school. In addition, a huge gratitude to our dedicated faculty who utilized the week of March 23-27 for planning enrichment activities, reaching out to our students, and meeting virtually to collaborate. Please review our Distance Learning Plan, which includes how we will communicate with our school community, the online platforms we will use, and the roles, responsibilities, and expectations to support student learning.
We understand that these are difficult circumstances, but it is imperative that we all do our part to “flatten the curve” and keep our community safe. We will keep you informed as the situation evolves and thank you for your continued trust. Stay healthy and safe!
